About the project
A set of GitHub Actions workflows I reuse across my own repositories: building multi-architecture Docker images, pushing them to the GitHub Container Registry and pinging Watchtower afterwards so the running containers pick up the new image. Keeping the build logic in one repository means a change to it does not have to be copied into every project that uses it.
Key features
- Builds Docker images and pushes them to the GitHub Container Registry.
- ARM64 and AMD64 through Docker Buildx.
- Combines the per-architecture images into one manifest.
- Triggers a Watchtower update through its API after a push.
- Called from other repositories with the `uses:` keyword.
- Registry login and API tokens come from GitHub secrets.
